If there is one thing that is forever moving, it is energy. Life, situations, desires, thoughts, beliefs... they all have an element of energy to them that creates a current or flow of the river. Some situations may seem small, like a stream, others may be obviously big, like a waterfall, and then there is that level of energy in between; the quiet unassuming river that actually has a strong current underneath it, and can push you along the river of life no matter how much you try to swim against it, in denial, in disregard, or in dispute... but the current of the river will inevitably out win you and life will continue on.
This river is your set of circumstances. Now, if you are comfortable with and accepting of these circumstances, you can just lie back and let the current of the river take you downstream.
Enjoy the view.

I don't like this river
However, if you are not feeling the love of your river (set of circumstances), then you always have the option of getting out of the flow to go and find another that resonates with you more. Find your preferred circumstances and enjoy that way of life. If need be, go and find the flora and fauna you would like to see on your riverbank. Go in search of the level of calmness that echos the tranquillity you desire. Go and find the location of this river that allows your soul to sing whether that be a quiet backwater or an urbanised, contemporary style river with mod cons along its edges.
You make your situation. You change your situation.
Your life has not been mapped out in infinite detail. You are still blessed with the freedom of inner choice even if you feel that externally you have little control. Slowly but surely just one little change can create a wave of energy that affects all your other circumstances. A coach is adept at helping you to work out which first little change to make; to help you to get going.
